Houston, we have a baptism!

Image
Hello, One last time! :') Houston was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this weekend! It was so powerful. The spirit was tangible.  It is such a bittersweet feeling to know this is my last pday and last email. I feel so much peace and fulfillment that the last 18 months of my life have been in the service of my God.  Around 4 years ago I prayed about how I wanted to serve a mission and asked Him if that was in line with His will for me. Heavenly Father led me to a verse in Doctrine and Covenants chapter 4 that says "..if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work". This was one of the rare times where my prayer was answered specifically and written out right in front of me.  Since then, I have received many more answers to my prayers. Some answers came miraculously soon, and some took days even weeks or months. Some prayers of mine are still being answered, but I know that as I ask in faith, and do what I ...

Groundhogs & Piano Guys

Image
Hello! So this week we celebrated groundhogs day at Jeff's by picking rock out of holes and planting trees! :) We also went to a devotional with Jon Schmidt - the piano guy - and his wife. It was incredible! They lost their daughter about 2 years ago in a tragic accident and they spoke about the peace, comfort and added strength beyond their own they recieved during the 2 month process of looking for their daughter and ultimately finding her body. Their experiences were incredible and the Spirit was tangible in that meeting. He also shared cool miracles that have happened that made it possible for some of the crazy stunts the piano guys pull - like putting a piano at a castle in Scotland and finding a pipe band in a day and teaching them the music in 45 mins (side note.. definitely look up Piano Guys "Fight Song/Amazing Grace" in Scotland... its incredible)  We had an awesome lesson with James over facebook messenger and taught him about temples and the need for ...

Walkin and Knockin

Image
This weeeekkkk we have been walking and knocking many a door! We have also been talking to people through their camera doorbells haha not my favorite thing, but I'll take it! We saw lots of miracles yesterday! We have been knocking doors, and praying hard, and visiting members and nonmembers like crazy, with no luck. Only one person that we were teaching was really progressing.  1. BUT, yesterday at church, a member brought her boyfriend. I thought he was a member of the church. He dressed and acted like a member and I thought i recognized him - plus the ysa changes weekly so its hard to tell who is new. Anyway, as we were leaving after church, right after we walked out the doors, I felt prompted that we needed to go back inside. I didn't understand it but once we walked in, I had the distinct impression that we needed to talk to him. Then immediately we got a call from the bishop. We answered and he told us to meet us on the east side of the building (where we were) b...

This Weeks Weekly & Pictures!

I'm training the BEST missionary in the APM! Sister Windish is awesome! She is super obedient and focused and a hard worker! She is from Oregon, shes super funny and talented and we have a ton in common! We have had a busy week with trainer/trainee meeting, unpacking, getting her to meet people, visits, lessons, 17 hours of service, etc.!  We had a special musical devotional by William Joseph and I had the chance to sing a couple songs with him at it :) it was awesome and the spirit was sooo strong!  Here are some lyrics from one of the songs we performed: He lives! All glory to his name! He lives, my Savior, still the same. Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives: “I know that my Redeemer lives!” He lives! All glory to his name! He lives, my Savior, still the same. Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives: “I know that my Redeemer lives!” Our Redeemer lives today and knows and loves you! Transfers! Training again! :)

Image
Hello!! So last week, we were able to go back to my last area to attend Patrick's baptism! It was awesome to see how far he had come and how great his faith is! He was so happy to be baptized :) Tomorrow is transfers and  I will be staying and training a brand new missionary !! I will meet her tomorrow :) I love serving with new missionaries. Their faith and works truly bring about miracles. Cool miracle ! This week a member gave us a "referral" - and they weren't interested -  BUT, we felt that we should knock the doors across the street too. The first door we knocked, after the referral, opened and we met a woman named Shelley and her 3 daughters! She works for a company that's predominately LDS so she knew who we were and we offered service! She let us in and let us do some service around the house and teach her girls. She was so grateful and texted us later that night that they just had to put down their dog and she saw us as angels that came in during ...
