Houston, we have a baptism!

Hello, One last time! :')

Houston was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this weekend! It was so powerful. The spirit was tangible.

It is such a bittersweet feeling to know this is my last pday and last email. I feel so much peace and fulfillment that the last 18 months of my life have been in the service of my God.

Around 4 years ago I prayed about how I wanted to serve a mission and asked Him if that was in line with His will for me. Heavenly Father led me to a verse in Doctrine and Covenants chapter 4 that says "..if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work". This was one of the rare times where my prayer was answered specifically and written out right in front of me.
Since then, I have received many more answers to my prayers. Some answers came miraculously soon, and some took days even weeks or months. Some prayers of mine are still being answered, but I know that as I ask in faith, and do what I can, the answer will come in the Lords timing.

I have learned the gospel of Jesus Christ in a deeper way. I have learned many life skills I wouldn't have otherwise learned. I have grown as a follower of Christ, as a person, and in my talents. I know my Savior in a closer and different way. I have felt added strength beyond my own. I've witnessed miracles - almost every day! I have felt the Spirit work through me to help others in time of need. I have had 10 companions, 6 areas, and Ive made soo many friendships along the way. I have witnessed the reality of the healing power of Jesus Christ and His Atonement. I know that Christ came and lived for us. He died for us. He loves us. He lives! And He is the peace we can find and trust in, in this not so peaceful world.

God speaks to us. He hears and answers your prayers. The power of God, which was lost shortly after Christ's death, has been restored to the earth! It is called the priesthood. It is a very real power that worthy men have the authority to use to bless, heal, and comfort others. I have seen prophecies fulfilled for my life. I know this church is Christ's church in the latter-days.

I still have desires to serve God, and therefore, I am still called to the work! I will forever be grateful for these special 18 months, and I will continue to share the gospel and serve those around me the rest of my life!

See you next week, Texas!❤
