Hey everyone! Wow this week went by fast but was packed full! We played life size Clue with the YSA ward at FHE last week :) that was fun and good to see Brittany finding her place in the ward! Anddddd, then she got BAPTIZED on Saturday!! :) it was awesome! Her family came from California to be here for it and support her :) She asked me to give a talk and do a musical number so that was fun haha. She is so awesome and already such a good missionary! She brought her roommate to church and now we will start teaching her this week :) Tuesday we went on exchanges, which I was not looking forward to but ended up being so great! I got to be with Sister Duncan, who trained my first companion named sister hall haha not the current one. Anyway, shes awesome and used to serve in this area so she helped me out a lot!  I sang "His Tears Were Mine" in Agua Fria ward and the ward members were so kind and all came up to me after sacrament meeting. I love singing in wards because it he...

Good week!

Hello!! This was a good week! Lots of bad and sad stuff happened, but we prayerfully pushed through and now I know that there truly is always a light at the end of the tunnel! Trials don't last forever. There IS good in everyday. There are blessings and tender mercies everyday. Gods hand is in our everyday life. He WILL strengthen you in times of need! "...peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high.." One sad thing that happened: we were teaching Lily, an 11 year old girl. Shes neighbors/friends with a less active family we teach weekly. She LOVED the lessons we give, and she expressed her desire to be baptized. When we told her that we could help her prepare for baptism, she was so relieved and excited and said "Finally!!" She said her mom was fine with her meeting with us. We gave her a Book of Mormon and went next door to meet her mom. ...

5 Months!

So much happened this week! I feel like i saw that every week haha...  Fun news! On Friday we are getting a new car!! We currently have the oldest car in the mission and they are selling it soon, so we are getting a new one!  Also, do not be alarmed by the pictures at urgent care haha, I just went to get my blood drawn and checked but everything is good in the hood!  Surena and Becca (Mary's great grandkids) are progressing toward baptism which is super exciting!! They and their little 5 year old cousin, Chris, came to church on Sunday! I went to junior primary with Chris while Sister Hall went with Becca. It was super fun to be there with him and see how much he enjoyed church :)  Troybelle has been in the hospital all week, so prayers for her would be awesome! She is preparing to be baptized on the 27th!  She is pondering and studying the scriptures while in her hospital bed :) She is awesome! She acted on her faith and asked for a priesthood blessing and ...

New Sister Hall

Image
My new companion is Sister Hall! Haha yes you heard me right. So the old Sister Hall was transferred to Buckeye and then the new Sister Hall came in! She's from Marsing. Idaho and shes super cool! She is a powerful missionary and we get along super well! :) This week, we met Troybelle! A couple weeks ago we got a call that she had been reading the Book of Mormon, knows its true, and wants to be baptized! :) She loved church this week and we have our second lesson with her tonight!  The other day, we tried to contact a YSA referral (someone in our young single adult ward boundaries who wants to learn more) and he wasn't home, but we met a cool little kid name's Ethan! He wanted to know more about the gospel and was interested in baptism! He said there are Elder missionaries that live at that apartment complex! He showed us where they live and left a note for them to teach Ethan and his mom! We took a picture with him because he was a cool little dude. To save miles, we h...

I'm staying!

Hey everyone! This week, we walked and we walked and we walked... We started to cut it close on miles (we get a specific amount per month) so we decided to walk more! We were 2 miles under our limit! We did it!  So last week was Christmas and that was fun! I got to Skype my family, which was nice but kind of made me homesick. But I'm good now! :) I just forget myself and get to work! It is true, you really can lose yourself in the service of others!  We are SO busy out here! We have a lot of people and a few families we are teaching, though a lot of our plans fell through this week. But still a great week!  We went to the Mesa temple lights one last time on Friday! We were so blessed to be able to help out there the past couple months. It's sad that they won't be doing the Christmas lights there for the next 2 years, due to temple renovations, so I'm especially glad we were able to be there this year!  Hermana Cienfuegos - one of the Spanish speaking sisters in...
