I'm staying!
Hey everyone!
This week, we walked and we walked and we walked...
We started to cut it close on miles (we get a specific amount per month) so we decided to walk more! We were 2 miles under our limit! We did it!
So last week was Christmas and that was fun! I got to Skype my family, which was nice but kind of made me homesick. But I'm good now! :) I just forget myself and get to work! It is true, you really can lose yourself in the service of others!
We are SO busy out here! We have a lot of people and a few families we are teaching, though a lot of our plans fell through this week. But still a great week!
We went to the Mesa temple lights one last time on Friday! We were so blessed to be able to help out there the past couple months. It's sad that they won't be doing the Christmas lights there for the next 2 years, due to temple renovations, so I'm especially glad we were able to be there this year!
Hermana Cienfuegos - one of the Spanish speaking sisters in my apartment - has been sick, so we have been going on splits a lot. I went to a lesson that was completely in Spanish, and understood everything!! It was so cool. The Spirit was super strong. Whenever they ask if I speak Spanish, I just have to tell them "Entiendo pero yo no hablo" and that seems to be sufficient haha.. thank goodness for high school Spanish. I also had to speak Spanish to a man we met while trying to find a family we received as a referral. He spoke absolutely no English haha.. luckily we were able to comprehend most of what he was saying, and I finally got to say "somos las missionarias de la iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimios Días" so that was cool.
We celebrated new years (until about 9pm haha) with our district, playing apples to apples and eating food. It was fun but didn't feel like new years.
So sad news, Sister Hall is being transferred tomorrow to Buckeye! We had the best transfer together though! My new companion is.. not sure yet! Haha have not received a call yet.I am excited to get to work and serve her, whoever she is, and those we find! :)
We have an all day pday today which is cool! We are going to have a zone activity at a trampoline park!
I'm excited for this next transfer, even though I have no idea who I'm going to be with! Haha woo! It's all in the Lord's hands. He trusts me with this area and these people and I trust Him. Something that has been a constant theme the past 5 months is Proverbs 3:5-6. I've gained an unshakable testimony of the truth of those verses. If we trust in the Lord, fully, not relying on ourselves and our own abilities, He will guide us! I love being a missionary! This is the Lords work, and He is hastening it, and it is so cool to be a part of it!
