It's A Dry Heat

Image
Hello! So my new area consists of Black Canyon City, New River, Daisy Mountain, North Valley, and goes right around Anthem. We have super nice apartments called Ironhorse (whoever named the streets and places here tried to be very Native American...there's tons of streets like topaz rd, turquoise st, amethyst dr, squaw valley trail, etc) Our church building is right across the street from a nudist colony called Shangri la 😂😂 so that's different. Anyway, the majority of my area is desert. Whatever you picture when you think of Arizona, that's my area. I love it!! So many cacti and mountains and desert heat. Everyone keeps saying "its a dry heat!" then makes a comment comparing it to either an oven, or fire and brimstone and all that good stuff. Haha. I don't think the heat is that bad, but I was definitely spoiled in Prescott with their perfect weather. I'm soo excited about my new calling as a Sister Training leader (STL) because I will get to go on e...

Back to the Valley!

Hey! So yesterday morning, we were at a service project with practically the whole zone - staining/painting a fence..and everyone was getting calls from president about transfers. We didn't think we'd get one because we were pretty sure we were staying together and nothing was going to change, so we were super surprised, when we got a call from President. Long story short, I will be going down to the valley again, back to my first zone, and will be in Daisy Mountain, with Sister Curry! I will be close to my first area - one of my favorite places!  BUT, pray for me, because I will be in the Phoenix heat this summer 😅😅. Luckily, we will have a car! This past week, we (our district) taught summer seminary! It was SO fun. The youth are amazing. We taught the plan of salvation and they had such great comments and questions.  We had lots of service, as usual, this week. Helped reorganize drawers, paint fences, unloaded a uhaul in the rain, walked a dog with an i...

Busy Busy

Hi! Busy week.  I always feel like we are just running around trying to help everyone and their mothers and then the day is over after I blink a few times. But its good! Missionary work is exhausting, that's for sure! Lots of service this week! We helped a non member couple unload their moving trucks, along with some members of the elders quorum. We rearranged some furniture and did laundry for Willa (former investigator). Helped paint the Lowry's house (member family with a pregnant wife), organized a wall full of VHS tapes and DVDs for an elderly member, visited Mary Anna and she taught us more about quilting! My quilt is almost done! And we made posters for Brother Murray's display for our wards emergency preparedness activity! It was awesome that the ward had this event, as there have already been multiple fires here. One in Prescott Valley was headed towards the stake center there, and got as close as 500 ft, then out of nowhere, turned and changed directions. Crazy m...
