Get In the Wheelbarrow!

Image
Hello!  First I will explain my title and the weird district picture! So last week at district meeting, Elder Johanson gave a discussion on faith. (Side note: a lot of people say faith is an action word, BUT what I feel is more correct is to say that faith leads to action, and faith without works is dead) He quoted a John Bytheway talk and told a story of a man who crossed a tightrope over Niagara Falls. Before ge crossed each time, he asked those watching if they believed he could do it. They cheered and cheered! He walked across to the Canadian side and back with just his long balancing pole. Then he asked if they believed he could do it without the pole. They cheered and cheered! He walked there and back. Then he asked if they believed he could do it backwards. They cheered! Then when he gets to the other side, the man gets a wheelbarrow and asks if they think he can make it across with a wheelbarrow. The crowd went wild! They're cheering and cheering..but then he asks ...

Bless The Rains

Hi! Not a ton of time! Exchanges this week with Sister Crowther in my first area! It was so weird being back there and seeing people I knew, but cool to see that some people I found are now being taught and coming to church regularly! :) Wednesday was the BEST day. Bless the rains, it rained!! Like a lot! Its been sprinkling here and there but not raining hard where we are, ever! We always seem to miss it. There's been monsoons and dust storms galore! It even flooded in parts of our area! Anyway we had a lesson Wednesday with Anna (14 yr old girl) and Riley (12 yr old boy) and their mom who is returning to church after 7ish years. They are a family that we found because a young woman knew about Anna and we visited and helped them move from their house into an apartment. We taught them the first lesson and they want to get baptized! They are on date for August 11th :) we were so happy!! Miracles! #therecanbemiracles #whenyoubelieve #blesstherains we had another lesson with them...

So many bugs and cacti

This week has been great! We saw so many miracles!! On Saturday,  a returning member cancelled our lesson and informed us that she had started smoking and drinking again after 10 months of being sober. She said she probably won't come to church. :( we went by her house and "heart attacked" her door (left uplifting notes) and we prayed and I fasted for her to have strength beyond her own to overcome these temptations and addiction and to come to church and feel of our love and Gods love. Then on Sunday, she came to church! She came out of sacrament meeting with a huge smile on her face. She came right up to us and hugged us and thanked us for the notes we left her and said she is quitting smoking/drinking again! We were so happy and it was SO cool to see a miracle from fasting.   Another miracle we saw yesterday, and I might've mentioned part of it a little before, was with a part member couple, Sameer and Christina. Sameer is from Jordan and is a convert of 11 years. ...
