So many bugs and cacti
This week has been great! We saw so many miracles!!
On Saturday, a returning member cancelled our lesson and informed us that she had started smoking and drinking again after 10 months of being sober. She said she probably won't come to church. :( we went by her house and "heart attacked" her door (left uplifting notes) and we prayed and I fasted for her to have strength beyond her own to overcome these temptations and addiction and to come to church and feel of our love and Gods love. Then on Sunday, she came to church! She came out of sacrament meeting with a huge smile on her face. She came right up to us and hugged us and thanked us for the notes we left her and said she is quitting smoking/drinking again! We were so happy and it was SO cool to see a miracle from fasting.
Another miracle we saw yesterday, and I might've mentioned part of it a little before, was with a part member couple, Sameer and Christina. Sameer is from Jordan and is a convert of 11 years. His wife is not a member but when they got married 6 years ago, she started coming to church with him! She said its the only church shes been to where she really feels peace and feels loved. Anyway, they hadn't been coming to church for a few years, and recently moved here! We stopped by their apartment and Sameer said "you finally found us!" Anyway, yesterday at church he told Bishop that he and his wife had been praying for help and guidance 2 days before we knocked on their door. He said it was a definite answer to their prayers. It is so cool to have God work through us to help His children find their way back and feel of His love. :)
We had lots of service hours this week.. we helped a part member family move ..for 4 hours. Thankfully, the elders came and helped too, because we couldn't have done most of that work alone. Then we went back later that week and helped them clean their house for 2 hours - thankfully the relief society president and her daughters came to help as well!
We had LTM this week, which was awesome and so fun to see some of my favorite missionaries there! We talked a lot about improving ourselves and how we lead to help others, not for our own personal gain. Super cool. I'm so humbled to be in a leadership position and I'm so excited to help in any way I can. We have our first exchange tonight:) then next week we will exchange again and I will be in my first area for the day! :)
Soo pumped for the 4th of July! We will have zone conference all day, then we get to visit with the Zamarrons!! 😁🎆
We also were able to do service at the temple grounds this week and that's the most peaceful service ever. We just trimmed some shrubbery in front on the temple grounds and even though it was super hot and we were sweating profusely, I wouldn't give up temple service for anything! Its the best. We also had multi district meeting and it was extra fun because it was Elder Dopp's birthday! Sister Curry and I made a cake (with homemade frosting because we didn't have any frosting) and a bunch of muffins and we decorated a room and had a surprise party! Some elders bought like 20 bags of balloons so we came early to help blow them up and we all almost passed out haha but it was worth it. I, and a few other missionaries, are also working on a musical number for zone conference so that's exciting! :)
Well, busy week, lots of service and lessons and sweating and miracles! I love my mission and being in the best mission in the world, Arizona Phoenix mission! Love and pray for you all!
