Fully Packed Week!

Image
Hello! This week has been jam packed with amazing meetings and devotionals, etc! We had 3 meetings with Elder Lynn G. Robbins of the quorum of the seventy. He is amazing. I learned sooo much this week.  I thought for my email this week, I'd just share some of the things I took away from the meetings/conferences/councils :)  Some takeaways from Elder Lynn G. Robbins: ❤ Have a "to be" list and then a "to do" list of things you can do to accomplish the thing you're trying to be. So, take a christlike attribute.. humility. If I want to BE more humble, there are things I can DO to become more humble, such as pray to receive the gift of humility. (And don't be discouraged when you fall short or don't see progression in yourself) 😂 Pride is like bad breath, noticeable and offensive to all except the offender ❤ Remember that the battle is the Lord's ..and the Lord uses the weak and the simple (18-20ish year old missionaries, David, Jose...

Hellooo This week flew by! Let's see, since last pday, we have been pretty busy, and its only getting busier! This week we have meetings everyday except Saturday. Most of them are in the morning too.. tomorrow morning we have a meeting at 6, then Wednesday through Friday we have meetings with Lynn G Robbins that start at 7 AM !! We have lessons, service, and other meetings on top of all that. Im pumped, but pray for us haha we are going to be so tired.  Jenna texted us this week and said that she finished the Book of Mormon. :) and now she is going to start reviewing the parts she highlighted! Crazy how fast she's read it all! We went to youth conference to help out with some things and everyone dresses like greasers these days! Haha everyone has short jeans - cut or rolled - lots of denim - and everyone has checkered vans! It was fun to interact with the youth haha  Miracle!! A member gave us a referral for a woman he met unexpectedly when delivering a safe for...

"Richard and Jerry"

Hey!  Todays tender mercy: a random member saw us at cafe rio today and paid for our food! This week has been jam packed! I'm not sick anymore, so thats good. Neither of us are getting transferred, so thats really good too. We had a couple meetings this week and quite a few lessons! Katy and her daughter Lexi are on date for baptism! Prayer and fasting works, people! The Spirit has testified to me multiple times this week that I am in this specific area with these specific people at this specific time for a reason. There are things that only I could help with in a unique way. I know its the same for Sister Mathews being here as well. Im so grateful for personal revelation. God speaks to us! He can speak to you! :) ya just gotta ask. At a lesson last night with the Haddad's, Sam guessed that our first names are Richard and Jerry (Im Jerry)  😂😂 he's a funny guy.  I was able to speak in sacrament meeting this Sunday about obedience a d the blessings of ...

"You're Too Sick to Die"

Image
That quote was from an old man at church when he asked "how are you?" And i said, as I coughed, "Im dying" and he said i was too sick to die. Sooo I've been sick since last Monday night haha.. being sick on the mission is rough because you're used to being busy 24/7 so laying in bed for 75% of the day for 6 days is not fun. Luckily the members are amazing and have been taking good care of me. The bishop gave us a humidifier, and 4 members have given me tissues and medicine :)  We have kept busy by listening to conference talks, sister Mathews started crocheting a blanket. I made a dream catcher out of a hanger, and some other little things haha.. we have watched practically every video ever made by the church. And i did a lot of sleeping. We had 2 dinners on Thursday and the second one, we saw the elders at dinner too at the restaurant we were at!  At district meeting i was supposed to lead a discussion, so i wrote a script and sister mathews read...
