I'M A FLIPPIN MISSIONARY
Hey! Okay wow sooo much has happened in the past..what..6 days? The days really feel like weeks and weeks feel like days. It's crazy. Its been the longest week of my life in such a good way. I LOVE the MTC and I'm so happy to be a missionary! For anyone in the Utah area, I'd highly suggest taking a tour of the MTC while you have the chance! Its sooo pretty here, the artwork is incredible, and you can truly feel the Spirit so strong.
First of all, lets tall about my companion!! Her name is Sister Hall, she's from Kaysville, Utah and we have so much in common! We get a long super well and we're already best friends, which we are both so grateful for. We have 4 other sisters in our room and it kinda feels like college or EFY or something, and it's awesome! We all get along really well, and we're all going to Phoenix. Sister Davis is one of the other sisters in my room. She's from Texas & we both have crazy missionary moms;)
I LOVE my district. We have Elders Heath, Wilson, Mason, and Sawyer all going to the Colorado Denver South Mission! And Elders Satterthwait, Ellison, and Lamping going to Nashville, Tennessee! Then there's me & Sister Hall, and Sister Stevens & Sister Berry, all going to the Arizona Phoenix mission! We are like family already and it's amazing how close we've become after just a few days!
I've also seen a lot of friends here! I saw Elder Jace Kendrick a few times, my EFY roommate Alyse B, EFY friend Kyle M, Annie H and Sheridan S from BYUI, Megan Singer, and Elderek Baker from home! Haha Derek was one of my zone leaders! How crazy is that?! (A zone is made up of multiple districts) it was super nice to see him here :') but now he's on his way to Canada! He's an awesome missionary and friend so shoutout to him!
Schedule. So basically, each day is 6:30AM-10:30PM and consists of daily planning, breakfast, lunch and dinner, personal study, companion study, exercise time, classes, and teaching investigators. One day sister Hall and I used our exercise time by walking/running to the temple. It brought us so much peace and it's just so beautiful. So excited to go there again today!!
I love my teachers, Brother Pond and Brother Hoyt. They're super cool RM's (returned missionaries) and they teach us SO much and really help us out as missionaries. Brother Pond just got home from his mission a month ago so that's crazy, and Brother Hoyt has been about a year now. They're super funny and nice. They share the coolest experiences and have such powerful testimonies.
Our investigators! Ok so our first investigator was Jerek (Yeh-rik) which was funny because it sounds like Garrick haha. Our next investigator is McKelle. She goes to UVU and is 19 just like me and Sister Hall! Our other investigator is Anna. She's in he 20s and is from Russia. She first heard about the church when she was learning English in an English club that LDS missionaries taught in Russia. It was closed when her country no longer allowed missionaries to teach there. She moved here to go to school and learn more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love all of them so much and feel Heavenly Fathers love for them too!
Choir. Brother Eggett, the choir director, is the best. We laugh, we cry, we sing, and we learn so much. I sang in the MTC choir on Sunday and we got the chance to perform for devotional. And the coolest thing.. they've never broadcasted a Sunday devotional with the choir before but that's what we did! It was broadcasted to 15 other MTC's around the world! So cool! And the guest speaker was....Elder M Russell Ballard. It was an amazing experience singing for, then listening to an apostle of the Lord. PS nothing is more powerful than hearing missionaries sing Called To Serve.
The food. Everyone told me that I'd either love or hate the MTC food but I just think it's pretty decent..no complaints here haha. We had papa John's on Friday and taco bell yesterday so that was cool.
Tablets. It is so great having a tablet/iPad. I can read emails whenever I have time but just can't respond until my p-day (Tuesdays) SO send me emails, As me me questions, tell me stories, jokes, whatever during the week and I'll read them! I'd love to hear from you! :)
I love, miss, and pray for you all!
Until next week!

More pictures from today..also Neil L Andersen just spoke at our devotional!
He is so Christlike and shook as many hands as he could. Christ's church is restored and He loves us so much that He gave us prophets and apostles to guide us in this crazy world we live in!
