102 Degree Picnic
This has been a crazy awesome week!
1. STAY AWAY FROM CACTUS NEEDLES
Sooo a piece of an arm of a cactus broke off and landed on my foot. The needles went through my shoe and sock and about a centimeter into my toe. HA! Nasty. Sista Knox made me soak my foot to help me get the needles out because it would NOT come out. Finally, after soaking an pulling super hard with tweezers, I got them out haha. So yeah stay away from cacti. I'll send a pic of the kind it was.
2. Miracles happen.
There were multiple times when the Spirit put someone's name in my mind and so I thought "We should go visit them". It happened thrice....THRICE In 2 two days! Anyway each time, if we would've been even a minute later, we would've missed them. Twice they were on their way out and wouldn't be home the rest of the day, and one time they would've had kids going to bed and wouldn't have answered the door. So cool. The Lord is in charge of this work, not us. We just have to be receptive to the Spirit's promptings and act on them immediately. It's amazing what the Lord does with us as we're willing to listen and act.
3. It's so hot but I'm getting used to it already. It's not as sweaty and gross as humid Houston so that's nice. But, since we have 3 wards, members bring us lunches to eat in between our last 2 wards and we couldn't find an open room to eat in, so we had a picnic, outside, on the sidewalk, in 102 degree weather...in cardigans. Haha. Twas a blast.
4. I sang in church with THE William Joseph accompanying me. Look him up on YouTube if you haven't heard of him. He's awesome and looks like a legit rockstar. Really cool experience to perform with him and the spirit was super strong. Sang a song called "His Tears Were Mine". His fiance sent a video to my mom of us rehearsing so if you wanna hear it, ask her! (from Sister Garrick's mom: I posted the video here... https://youtu.be/j7jLw_nvMV4)
Okay well I think that's all.. Sister Zamarron took us to In N Out for lunch so that was nice! I have an hour and a half left of p day so email me quick if you have any questions! Until next week, love and pray for you all! :)
Oh yeah and a kid showed us how to feed a mouse to his pet snake haha nasty.
