This week ran by faster than a quail 'bout to get hit by a car!
There's lots of quail here. Anyway, Hi!!
Such an eventful week! We had exchanges on Tuesday sooo I took over the area.. which is crazy.. Haha. I taught Josh his first lesson and it was awesome! Josh is 16 years old and he's super good at guitar and lives with his grandma, who's a member of the church. He decided to meet with the missionary because he desires to come closer to Christ :) I taught the Restoration using Jenga and showing the new First vision video. <IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THAT VIDEO, GO WATCH IT HERE'S THE LINK>>> https://www.lds.org/ media-library/video/topics/ joseph-smith?lang=eng
We taught Rachel (16 years old) the second lesson and the spirit was SO strong. We showed the first vision video to her as well and she said she could tell the difference between Joseph Smith's account and "delusional people who claimed they have seen god". It was amazing how she was able to discern the difference and feel the Spirit.
We taught and served Larry a few times this week! Larry is 74 years old and is so funny. We taught him the restoration and he said it was the first time, after being taught for 2 years, that he heard that Joseph Smith didn't create the church, but that he restored Christ's church. We were SO glad he was able to realize that and we saw him progressing :) We went over a couple mornings to help him paint his fence this week. This morning we went on a little hike with him and then he took us to Cracker Barrel! :)
Sooo Sunday was crazy. Sister Knox and I went to sacrament for ward 1. After 30 mins of the sacrament meeting, she left me and went to ward council for ward 2. Then I went to family history class for 7 mins then to ward council for ward 3 while she went to sacrament meeting for ward 2. Then we met in the kitchen for lunch for like 7 mins and then we both went to gospel principles to teach a lesson. Then we ran to ward council for ward 1, which was cancelled, so we got to go to sacrament meeting for ward 3 and see the primary program! The Zamarrons ALL came to church and their 3 primary aged kids were in the program! They LOVED participating and begged their parents to let them stay for the next 2 hours of church :') We can learn A LOT from kids. Christ taught us to "become as a little child".
Then, we had cottage evening at Stake President Jackson's house. He's super cool and had us invite investigators, recent converts, and others to his house for a spiritual and fun get together. He asked me to sing so I sang "Come Unto Christ" and Sister Knox learned to play it in just 2 short days! It was super fun.
I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, I'm so grateful to be His missionary, and I know I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. I find a lot of peace from the Lord's daily tender mercies, and as I learn to rely on and trust more fully in Christ and Heavenly Father.
We are all children of God, our loving Heavenly Father. He loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to lay down His life for us. Christ suffered all the pains and sins of the world, willingly, for you. Ponder that and remember Him daily. :)
Love & pray for you all!!
