You Would Not Believe Your Eyes in 10 Million Cacti..
I'm in Glendale, Arizona! I'm so blessed to be in this area area with such an amazing trainer! :) We cover 3 wards and one of the wards has over 520 members. Crazzzyyyy! Lots are less active though so we're doing our best to reach out to them and help/invite them to come back.❤
Ok my companion/trainer is Sister Knox! She's awesome! She's a super cute teeny tiny missionary. She's been out for almost a year. She's 21, went to BYUI, and is super sweet and loving and the best trainer anyone could ever want. She's super humble, willing, works hard but also has fun! We jam out to Gladys Knight and the Brown Hymn Book all the time haha it's the best.
So much has happened. We went on a hike my first morning here with President Collins. PS I LOVE President and Sister Collins so much. They're truly incredible people. So kind and loving. And they have a funny, energetic 13 year old son named Scott. Their other kids are older and aren't at home. Such a seriously cool family. Anyway we hiked at 6:45 and it was already like 96 degrees....its crazy how hot it is here. Even at 9pm when it's dark, it's still 100 degrees.
So like I said, we cover 3 wards, so that means 7 straight hours of church haha I basically have a full slice of bread by the end of the 3rd sacrament meeting. Haha it's nice.. extra blessings, right? 😉 We taught Gospel Doctrine, which was a fun way to get to know a bunch of members all at once and help them get to know us! Also EVERYONE prays for Houston and Texas in general with the flood/hurricane sooo sending lots of love & prayers from Arizona! Every time I meet someone and they find out where I'm from they're like "Oh! Oh....oh no is your family okay?" Haha it's nice but got funny after like the 20th time. But I'm glad my family was watched over and protected from the storm so they're able to help and serve others who weren't so fortunate.
Soo we live with a member named Jana and her dog, Shaggy. Shaggy is a rescue and he hated me the first couple days, but now we're friends. He basically never leaves me alone when we're at home haha.
Sweating bullets, got pricked by a thorny plant (not a cactus but similar), and like 10 but bites already but ...Lots of miracles and tender mercies already! I'm excited to see how the Lord will work through me in the next 11 weeks (at least) here in Glendale, and for the next 17 months :)
MY Missionary Commission (a lot of work and a lot to live up to, but truly a blessing and its possible because I have Christ by my side) :
"I am called of God. My authority is above that of kings of the earth. By revelation I have been selected as a personal representative of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is my master and He has chosen me to represent him. To stand in his place, to say and do what He himself would say and do if He personally were ministering to the very people to whom He has sent me. My voice is his voice and my acts are His acts. My words are His words and my doctrine is His doctrine. My commission is to do what He wants done. To say what He wants said. To be a living modern witness in word and deed of the divinity of His great and marvelous latter day work. How great is my calling!"
Email me any questions you have! Love and pray for all of you!
