Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year🎆

Image
Hello! Can you believe it's 2019 tomorrow!? I can't! This week was great because i got to Skype my family! 😊❤ We spent Christmas Eve-ning with the Valdez family. We had some good Mexican food and a piñata! We sung Christmas songs and they danced to some Mexican Christmas songs haha! It was fun!  Christmas day we spent with 2 fun families too :) we hung out with the Shepherds and played board games and talked for a few hours, then we went to the Wells for dinner and more games and a bonfire:) it was a good way to spend the day! Thia week we have helped a few families take down Christmas decorations, and visited a lot of members and had a few lessons!  On Thursday night, we had the cool miracle of finding everyone we were hoping to visit that night! One door didn't answer, but we went across the street to a members house, and the family we were looking for was there!  We had a last minute lesson with Meiko and Rico on Saturday and their sister Nikki ...

Week full of Christmas parties

Merry Christmas! So this week was awesome! We had our mission Christmas celebration "remembering Christmas" and President designated me in charge of caroling hahah  We also went caroling with the YSA which was so fun and with our zone which was also fun! I love caroling! Especially since its not very common anymore, so it was cool to see the pleasantly surprised reaction of the houses we sang to! I also went on exchanges up north in chino valley this week which was great! I love it up north, but i was sooooo cold. It was like in the 30s/40s at parts of the day. We saw lots of miracles that day though:) We also had our ward Christmas party (a night in Bethlehem) it was sooo amazing. It really felt like you were in Bethlehem it was so great. We read the nativity to kids, and i sang "What child Is This" at the start of the program - which i was asked to do the day before and only practiced 10 mins before the event started haha but it turned out well! This ...

Light Your Family (not on fire)

Image
Hello!!  This weeks theme is #LightYourFamily!! Check out the video at  lighttheworld.org  :) this video reminds me soooo much of my sweet brother Kobe. Not only is he creative like the boy in this video, but he is secretly super sweet and kind and thoughtful and loving (sorry to embarrass you Kobo)  I love my family! I'm so grateful for them and for each of their unique qualities and traits that have brought light and love to my life! :)  Invite your friends over this week and have the missionaries come and teach the special light the World lesson!! (They should know what it is)  Love y'all! Merry almost Christmas! Go out and serve! -- Sister Garrick AZ scenery  Christmas decorations at our bishops house unintentionally matching with Sis Berry @LTM Sis Berry and Sister Harris YSA Christmas party had live music! Transferred!

Hello! So I got transferred and its crazy! I'm living in an apartment in my first area - where I was with Sister Knox - and I'm back in my last area's stake! AND there are people from most of my areas in my YSA here! Crazy.  So I'm finishing training for Sister Wells! She has been here 7 weeks and is from South Carolina! She is super happy to be here on a mission, which is so good, and we are working hard!  Its kinda hard living so far out of our area, and we have limited miles, so we have to be careful when we plan, but its good :) we don't really have anyone we are teaching currently, but we have faith that that will change soon!  So Elder Holland couldn't make it :( BUT Elder Gerrit W. Gong came! Along with Elder Ochoa of the seventy and Elder and Sister Frost. It was a great meeting and I received answers to my prayers as I prepared for and listened during this special conference. Pretty cool - its like general conference came to us!  We also had a special m...

Week of Miracles, Service, and Transfers! #LightTheWorld!!

Something I learned this week is that if you want increased peace in your life,  SERVE !  December 1st was the Worldwide Day of service! Our day was packed full of miracles. It started out with us going to help out with the Savior of the World musical..and, Jordan Rushing, the son of Katy Ordonez (my last baptism) had his baptism at the same time in the same building! Hugeee tender mercy that I was then able to attend Jordan's special day, and see lots of the people I love from the North Valley ward :) Miracle !! The guy who delivered the food for the cast party after the musical is interested in meeting with missionaries and being baptized!!! #matthefooddeliveryguy  Then we went to a service where we helped a family hang up Christmas lights on their house. They tried to pay us and were shocked we wouldn't take it. The grandmother only speaks Spanish and was confused why we weren't taking the money so i said "somos las misioneras de la iglesia de Jesucristo d...
